Wicked Nectar

Perspiration glistens on your skin.
I hold you close and take you in,
Savor your essence before we begin.
You smell of wickedness, taste like sin,
And I’m a glutton for damnation.
Lost in your nectar I start to spin.
You’ve played me like a violin,
Left me ailing once again.
You never seem to let me win.

Toxic

Toxic

Yet glorious

A bipolar conflict

Spellbound and revolted by your

Venom

Façade

Reflection

Of perfection, a lie

A trick to mimic the distant sky

A simple touch revealed all that you have concealed

Murky your aura, a soul unlit

Underneath you are a

Counterfeit

School’s Out!

Balloons filled with water
Instead of air.
Family trips to
The county fair.
Take your best friend
To the park.
Your curfew is now
Just before dark.
Hit the beach,
Splash in its shores.
Start a campfire,
Roast some smores.
Take a boat to
Your fishing spot.
Eat a popsicle when
It gets too hot.
Go on a road trip,
See all the sights.
Witness billions of stars
On clear summer nights.
Take in a parade
On the 4th of July.
Grab a kite
And let it fly.
Explore your world
On a bike,
Or find a trail
And take a hike.
Run through a sprinkler
Laugh as you play.
Read a book
On a rainy day.
Squirt gun attack ~
Dive in the pool!
Hooray today is
The last day of school!

Beach Day

We arrived before the break of day,
When sunlight shared its first ray.
Worry washed away
By surf’s spray.
Sea

We took naps in the sand where we lay,
Dove in rolling waves to play.
Worry washed away
By surf’s spray.
Glee

We lingered until sundown’s display,
Awe struck by color’s array.
Worry washed away
By surf’s spray.
