The oddquain butterfly is not truly an oddquain because it does not have 5 lines. The butterfly form is similar to the mirror oddquain, except that one of the 1-syllable lines in the middle is dropped, creating a 9 line poem with the syllable pattern 1-3-5-7-1-7-5-3-1.
