Throwback Thursday! “Sunset Daydream” was originally posted on the very day this blog was born. It was actually written 18 years ago, after the sudden and tragic death of a friend who was like a little brother to me. The day of his funeral was particularly difficult – not just the funeral, the whole day. As I drove home that night I witnessed a sunset that just made me feel like everything was going to be alright.

(The sunset in the featured photo was not the same sunset that inspired this poem. The cotton candy clouds are similar, though not as full nor as vivid as they were that night.)
