Wandering

Lost on the road to oblivion,
Can’t see where I’m going,
Don’t know where I’ve been.
Stumbling through the fog blind,
Reluctant to reach out,
Scared of what I’ll find.
Paralyzed by my own fear,
By myself in the dark,
How’d I even get here?

Shadows

I lived life behind secure locks
Within the limits of my box.
Bored but content, out of harm’s way,
I was complacent in the dark

You started a blaze so divine
It penetrates my confine,
And keeps murky shadows at bay.

Elfin Tree

Dwarfed by sprawling forestry,
Meager little elfin tree.

Eager to find the largest prize,
Crowds trampled over those her size.

When I found her laying in the snow,
She brought to my mind this girl I know.

Meek, different, but brimming with potential,
I set out to prove her consequential.

Confident in her new attire, she shone bright.
N’er had one stood taller igniting the night.
