My Window

Cerulean seas touch the sky,
The sun’s rays set the world aglow.
I witness it all pass me by,
Trapped on this side of my window.

Observing vicariously,
I am here but no one will know.
I see them but they won’t see me,
Trapped on this side of my window.

Hand pressed mournfully to the pane,
Desperately I long to go.
Within my confines I’ll remain,
Trapped on this side of my window.

A Sadistic Season

The darkness stakes its claim on day
Intent on taking life away.
The leaves begin asphyxiating,
Starved of light, they’re suffocating.

Beholders gawk in wonderment
At gasping breaths so candescent.
Reverence earned by mutating,
Starved of light, they’re suffocating.

Darkness closes its savage grip,
One by one leaves begin to slip.
On the ground they’re congregating,
Starved of light, they’re suffocating.

Enchantress

Behind her eyes lies the motive,
There is purpose in what she flaunts.
Indeed her gait is persuasive,
The girl always gets what she wants.

Her mere smile will take you captive,
She gets in your head and she haunts.
She will take all that you can give,
The girl always gets what she wants.

Yes, she is manipulative,
She knows what she does when she taunts.
Her seduction is effective,
The girl always gets what she wants.

Tunnel Vision

My world orbits around your star,
As I admire you from afar.
Untouchable just like the sun,
You give to me tunnel vision.

I don’t see others pass me by.
It is for your love that I vie.
As if you are the only one,
You give to me tunnel vision.

Open your eyes so you can see
The blinding hold you have on me.
Notice me or I’ll come undone.
You give to me tunnel vision.

My Cage

Locked in a prison with no file,
An agoraphobic exile
Misplaced in a world that’s a stage.
I rattle the bars of my cage.

A leper locked away alone,
Becoming feral on my own.
With tears of frustration and rage,
I rattle the bars of my cage.

I write to reclaim sanity,
What’s left of it inside of me.
Words scream silent upon the page.
I rattle the bars of my cage.
