Unburden Me

How
I wish
My worries
Could be dismissed,
Be carried away
Somewhere distant to stay.
Won’t someone please just take them?
Put an end to all this mayhem?
Before chaos engulfs my psyche,
Won’t you please take this encumbrance from me?

***************

So earlier, when I posted a rant, I mentioned that my extreme frustration with a situation outside of my control was hindering my ability to focus on anything else. I need to move past that. Since it’s not feasible to package my troubles and ship them to a faraway land (which is the only solution I can think of), I’m just going to have to put my head down power through… Boo, anyone know where I can find a shortcut?

Borrowed Time

A flower blooms
While a child cries.
A life is born
As an old man dies.

Life’s not given.
It is a loan.
It’s time we use,
But never own.

A privilege bestowed.
Something to cherish.
Spend it wisely,
For soon we all perish.

Then our children are left
With the life we once mused.
To make the most of existence
And time we once used.

Words Are Seeds

Ever wonder
Where words go
After they escape
Your mouth?
You should.
It is naive
To believe
That words go south.
Words are seeds,
Planted by lips,
Fertilized by belief,
Grown by repetition.
That which you
Have breathed life into
Does not die
But seeks duration.
Stay in charge
Of your tongue,
Of the words
That it creates.
Keep your secrets,
Tell no lies,
Be careful what
You pollinate.
Murmur or roar,
Falsehood or truth,
Your words are
In the air.
Matters not
What you say,
They’re lasting
Once you put them there.
If words are
Not sentient
Why then
Is it said,
Two can keep
A secret
If one of them
Is dead?

Nature’s Canvas

Paint rains from above

On brushes of sunlight

Pouring upon sepia forests

Awakening shades of life

Return to Home

Brain Gypsy

So
You promised
You’d never forget,
You’d keep me always in your
Mind.

You
Reduced me
To a memory,
Demoted from eternal
Love.

A
Brain gypsy,
A nomadic flash,
Roaming unseen within your
Head.

You’d
Rather feel
The breeze than my touch.
To reminisce is all you
Need.

I’m
A relic
Worth recollection,
Unfit for a place in your
Heart.
