Precious Payload

As though hung heavy the sun sinks slowly.
A brisk breeze bites at exposed toes with nighttime’s nip,
But are warmed well by the sun soaked sand.
As reflective rays dance upon water’s waves
A barge breaks the serene silence.
She anxiously awaits precious payload
As sea’s surf chaperons her husband home.

Return to Home

Unseen

He’s right before their eyes
Still he remains unseen,
As though he’s an extra
In someone else’s dream.

His frantic pleas for help,
They seem to go unheard.
He begs them to listen,
But they pass without word.

He longs for only love,
Desires just affection,
One who will embrace his
Every imperfection.

Instead he walks alone
Through shadowy places,
Adrift upon this vast
Sea of nameless faces.

Return to Home

Dark Clouds

Dark clouds of
despair
threaten like
a storm of
sorrow.
Ruthless beads of
blinding rain
saturate my soul,
flooding my thoughts
with memories
of loss.

Return to Home

End of Day

The light holding my dreams at bay
Into the night it fades away.
I close my eyes, visions play
Until sunlight casts its first ray.

Return to Home

Arctic Monstrosity

Arctic
monstrosity
slithers like a serpent,
enveloping all that obstructs
its path.

Seeping
relentlessly into breaches,
seeking out sentience,
eager to end
us all.
